For me this painting is a declaration of who i am as a possibility in community – distinct from all my blah blah blah about that. When I’m looking at what else is possible in life, I’m much more powerful than when I’m relating to myself as some sort of fixes identity I can clutch at, like a straw… not so much waving as drowning…
